Committee News – February 2006
At the last committee meeting, Fiona Sutherland stood down
as Chair. We’d like to thank her for all her hard work in this role and are
grateful to report that she has agreed to stay on committee. Kate Lemon, who
has been Acting Chair for the past six months, will now officially take on the
position of Chair.
We have had some more parents come forward who would like to
be involved in the pre-school committee. Please keep an eye out for a notice
advertising an Extraordinary General Meeting in the near future, in order to
formally elect them. If anyone else wants to volunteer, it’s not too late!
We now
have a website, at www.wasps.smartemail.co.uk. As well as attracting new
parents, we would like it to be useful for existing parents, so if you have any
comments or suggestions for improvement please contact Kate Croudace. The site does include some
pictures of the children as well as their work. We have imposed two criteria on
ourselves: that none of the children's names should be able to be obtained from
the site and that no photos should be included that show any child's face. If
anybody has any concerns about any of the photos, please contact Kate. A
password is required to access the parent-helper rota.
Finally,
as many of you know, we have a cleaner who comes in just once a week. As there
are many other users of the hall and the staff has only limited time to set up
and clear away at the end of the session, we would like to request parent’s
help in ensuring continued and improved standards in the toilet area.
Therefore, from next term, the committee would like to ask all parent helpers
to look over the toilets at the start of the day, and give them a quick clean
if required. If anybody has any objections to this, please feel free to discuss
them with Kate Lemon.
