Dear Parent,

We’d like to remind you that our summer fête and open day is taking place on Saturday 16th September from 2pm-4pm at St Laurence Hall. Please come and see the plans for the new building (due to open Easter 2007) and help us raise pots of money, to enable us to afford some superb new outdoor play equipment for it. We would appreciate your help with the following:

Raffle Tickets

Enclosed with this letter are three books of raffle tickets (each book contains 5 tickets; £1 a ticket; £5 a book). As you can see, with the help of many local businesses, we have managed to obtain some great prizes, including a top prize of a £200 voucher to spend in Currys, PC World or Currys.Digital. We’re sorry the tickets are not perforated, but we have kept down costs by printing them ourselves. Please return any stubs and money collected to either Kate Croudace or Synetta. More raffle tickets can be obtained from Kate or Jan Tyley

Tea towel

Yes, it’s the ubiquitous fund raising tea towel! It contains self-portraits by the children and staff and would make an ideal Xmas present. £4 each or 3 for £10. They will go on general sale at the fête, but are available from Kate Croudace beforehand. Catch her any morning at Pre-School to buy some or to have a closer look.

Tombola

We need bottles for the tombola. Please could everybody donate one or two bottles?

Bric-a-brac

We would welcome any items that we can sell on the bric-a-brac stall, for example, unwanted Xmas presents (tea towels?) or old toys and games that your children have grown out of.

Cakes

Just to warn you that nearer the time we’ll be sending out plates and asking for contributions to our cake stall. These don’t have to be cakes; we did really well at the Xmas Bazaar last year with our homemade bread and quiches.

Finally, any offers to help out on the day will be gratefully received. Additional people to help man stalls would be very useful. If you can help, please speak to any member of the committee.

Thanks for any help you can give.
