Newsletter - September/October 2006

Welcome back after a slightly disappointing summer. We welcome [Name removed] and [Name removed] to Pre-school and hope they enjoy Pre-school.

Topic

The topic this term is Autumn and Farm. We have simplified activities this term as we have so many little ones, whilst still accommodating the older children.  If you have not received a parents planning sheet please do ask for one. If you have an email address, then please give it to me so I can send items electronically.

Trip

We have a trip on the 18th October to Farmer Gow’s Farm. Please make sure you have filled in your form and returned it to Pre-school with your payment.  Remember the under 3’s are free.  If an adult cannot accompany your child, members of staff are going and can look after them. You will need to fill in a form giving permission for them to travel in a staff member’s car.

Sponsored Walk

From the sponsored walk money we have purchased an activity table, which the children thoroughly enjoy, also some books.  The rest of the money is going towards a digital camera for Pre-school use.

Building Update

We now have the start date for the erection of the new building at St Laurence School. Work will commence on the 29th January, hopefully to complete by the 26th March, although we will still have lots more to do before opening.  We are aiming for Easter but half term is looking more likely.

AGM

Please can I remind everyone that there is an AGM on Tuesday 10th October in St Laurence Hall (Pre-school) at 8pm. It would be great to see as many people there as possible. We have been updating the policies over the summer. Please take a look at the new ones – they are on display in the porch.

Safety

Could everyone please ensure that the gate (by the post office) is closed and bolted when you leave.  Does anyone have any spare time ha ha!! There are many weeds in the playground and most of them are stinging nettles. Can we get some people together, maybe after Pre-school one day?

Thank you, have a great term
